Thanksgiving Eve delivered exactly what Buffalo needed — a massive celebration downtown at Rec Room Buffalo, where the energy was unstoppable from the moment doors opened. Even with snow coming down hard outside, the line wrapped down the block as over 1,000 party-ready Buffalonians packed into the venue for what’s known as the biggest party night of the year.
Inside, the vibe was electric.
DJ Biacco lit the room up with heaters, remixes, and high-energy club tracks — and then the music went next level as John Troy jumped in on sax, creating a live hybrid set:

On a crisp November evening in downtown Syracuse, the Grand Ballroom at the Marriott came alive. The night kicked off with a soaring Solo Sax grand entrance—elegant, soulful, and unforgettable—setting the tone for an evening of celebration and connection.
As the party unfolded, the energy only grew. A powerhouse nine-piece dance band kept the floor moving for hours, delivering hit after hit with precision, swagger, and style. From the first downbeat to the final encore, the room pulsed with joy, rhythm, and nonstop momentum.
The guests were ecstatic, the dance floor stayed packed, and the couple—radiant and thrilled—soaked in every moment. It was one of those special nights where music, atmosphere, and emotion aligned perfectly: a celebration full of energy, gratitude, and pure satisfaction.

What an unforgettable night in the Glorious Finger Lakes Region!
On November 15th, 2025, Watkins Glen was the backdrop for an extraordinary wedding celebration—one filled with joy, energy, and the kind of magic only the Finger Lakes can provide.
I was honored to deliver full ceremony sound, complete with professional microphones to ensure every word of the vows carried beautifully through the space. From there, I transitioned into DJ & MC duties, guiding the flow of the evening and keeping the energy high from the very first announcement to the final send-off.
Guests enjoyed a vibrant cocktail hour featuring live sax, setting the tone for a classy-meets-electric night. The reception truly came alive thanks to the incredible ATLAS Band, whose musicianship elevated every moment. Sharing the stage with them on sax was a thrill—together we brought the perfect blend of live performance, dance-floor heat, and unforgettable moments.
The clients were overjoyed, the guests were thrilled, and the dance floor never stopped moving. Watkins Glen delivered the scenery; we delivered the soundtrack. An absolutely amazing celebration from start to finish.

The Atlas Band provided exceptional live music, while John Troy’s DJ MC hosting kept the energy high and the dance floor packed. It was a perfect blend of elegance and excitement, creating lasting memories for everyone involved.

An Electrifying Night with Rebirth Brass Band @ Nietzsches
The evening at Nietzsche’s in Buffalo was a dynamic fusion of New Orleans flair and Buffalo gritty Funk n’ Soul. As the opening act, I had the pleasure of performing alongside the Brass Machine on Tenor Sax and clarinet, setting the stage for an unforgettable live show. The Rebirth Brass Band brought vibrant horns and that signature NOLA sound, creating an electrifying atmosphere that had everyone on their feet. It was a night of high energy, incredible music, and pure joy.

Hosted by Sonic Rue, the private event for the Morrows at the Buffalo Launch Club on Grand Island, New York, was a resounding triumph. Guests enjoyed top-notch MC hosting, seamless sound and lighting, and the perfect blend of live entertainment. The event featured interactive, live instrumental performances, including a variety of songs that the Morrows had specially chosen. It was a truly vibrant and memorable celebration, leaving everyone with lasting memories.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the couple and their guests enjoyed a blend of heartfelt moments and lively entertainment.

On September 12th, 2025, the Admiral Room in downtown Buffalo was transformed into a stunning venue for a truly magical wedding. Surrounded by friends and family, the couple exchanged vows in a beautiful, elegant ceremony. The evening was filled with heartfelt moments, lively music, and joyful celebrations. John Aaron Troy Entertainment LLC provided exceptional saxophone performances for the grand entrance and throughout the evening, setting a perfect ambiance. It was a celebration full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories for everyone involved.

On August 15th, the John Troy Group lit up Pausa Art House with a packed house, full energy, and that unmistakable Buffalo jazz spirit. From the first downbeat, the room was electric—the band fed off the crowd, and the crowd fed right back, creating a musical loop that only happens in the right space, with the right people, on the right night.

Buffalo Jazz Festival | 2025
Under a blazing 90-degree Buffalo summer afternoon, the John Troy performance at the Buffalo Jazz Festival 2025 brought the heat both on and off stage. Tappo was packed—sun, sweat, sunglasses, cold drinks, and a crowd ready for a party.
The set leaned heavy into NOLA funk energy, pushing grooves thick enough to move the entire patio. Horns cut through the air like brass sirens, with lines that danced between traditional street-funk swagger and modern edge.
A standout moment of the show:
John’s effects-pedal saxophone, bending tone, stacking texture, and launching into wild, expressive sonic territory—part New Orleans parade, part modern festival fire.
The crowd stayed locked in the entire set, cheering, clapping, dancing, and riding the rhythm right alongside the band. Heat or no heat—the music won.
Buffalo showed up, and the band delivered.
A sweaty, joyful, high-octane blast of summer jazz.

On July 26, 2025, Shea’s Downtown Buffalo Theater was transformed into a hub of unforgettable energy. The event featured an epic live band performance, complete with vibrant saxophone energy right on the dance floor that mobilized everyone into full dance mode overdrive. It was truly a night to cherish, leaving guests over the moon with joy and creating lasting euphoria that carried well into their summertime afterparty in downtown Buffalo.

An Electric Experience at the Queen City Jazz Festival
This summer, the Queen City Jazz Festival was brought to life by the incredible Joel Nicholas Quartet, featuring dynamic and electrifying performances. The event sizzled with hot summer energy, I was grateful to be a part of the band & festival, which captivated the the festivals crowd for the bands entire slot. It was a celebration of jazz at its finest, and the energy was simply unmatched. A fantastic time was had by all!

During Fairport Canal Days, I had the thrill of performing with a firey nine-piece horn band under the main stage tent. The atmosphere was electric, entertaining a lively crowd complete with the backdrop of passing freight trains rumbling by, overlooking the charming canal-side village of Fairport, New York. It was a beautiful summer night festival, blending vibrant music and unique ambiance into an unforgettable celebration. I’m grateful for the repeat opportunity, the 2nd year back at this great weekend festival in WNY.

On a brisk may weekend, I had the elation of recording at GCR Audio, in Buffalo, New York. The session featured an incredible lineup of musicians, including Harry Graser, Jared Tinkham & Jacobo Albela. The session was audio-engineered by Jenna Rutowski and videographied by Alexei K. It was a blend of my original music and select arrangements of some of my current favorite songs, resulting in a very fun, intense, & great learning experience.
